Crochet Vincent Van Gogh Doll Pattern
I think that van Gogh is one of those artists that a lot of people can
appreciate, for his striking paintings and the mythos around him as a
"tortured artist." I've always been more of a fan of the impressionist style
paintings (van Gogh is considered post-impressionist) and you don't need a
great knowledge of art to enjoy the aesthetic beauty of his works. There's a
lot of misconceptions about van Gogh and if you are interested in him in
addition to biographies about him you might check out the collected letters
he wrote to his brother (Dear Theo), I promise they are more readable than
it sounds as he was also a decent writer. Theo died only six months after
Vincent and it is really thanks to his wife Johanna that Vincent's work
became well-known by exhibiting his works (she also translated and
edited the brother's correspondences).
This pattern is available for purchase on my Etsy shop (along with more details) or raverly.
