Crochet Robin Hood Doll Pattern
Robin Hood is one of the best known folk figures from English folklore, the
earliest known ballads about him are dated from the 15th century and he
became popular in the Late Middle Ages. The image of Robin Hood has formed
as one of a skilled archer dressed in green. Traditionally he is said to rob
from the rich and give to the poor, this and his conflict with the Sheriff
of Nottingham are present from early in the legends. Later on came on the
addition of Robin Hood's loyalty to King Richard against Prince John's
attempt to usurp the rightful king, often assisted by the Sheriff. The
historical truth of Robin Hood has long been debated but the stories
continue to live on and be adapted onto today.
